Loatlands PSDSR

Welcome and thank you for visiting our website where we are delighted to showcase what makes Loatlands Primary School such a special place to learn.

At Loatlands we actively seek to work in partnership with families to nurture the whole child and develop the highest standards of education for children in all that they do. We believe passionately in creating a love of learning that will allow children to become enquiring learners in all areas of our enriching curriculum.
We welcome everybody to Loatlands and it would be my pleasure to show you our school in action. As Headteacher I am proud of our children and the superb educational experiences that we offer. To arrange an appointment to view the school see the contact us link for phone number and email details.
Mrs Alison Willis
Headteacher

Thank you to all the grown ups who came into school yesterday to see how we teach phonics in reception and learn how to further support their children. We were so proud of the children in both classes who showed everyone how to correctly pronounce the sounds, how to blend sounds to read, and even what the words 'Digraph' means ( two letters who make friends to make one sound i.e 'sh')

Don't worry if you weren't able to make it; the children will have come home with a booklet containing all the information you need to support your child. If you are unsure about anything, please come and chat to us.

Thank you particularly to Donaldson Class who had Mrs Cross teaching them for the day. I really enjoyed spending the day with you while Miss Sellers was on a training course. You were superstars in the phonics workshop.

Here are some photographs of a few of the grown ups joining in with phonics activities.

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Cross, Mrs Wonfor and Miss Sellers

Safety

Ofsted said...

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective. Staff know how to spot signs of potential risks to pupils’ safety. Leaders know what to do when worried about a pupil. They seek further advice when needed and work well with other agencies

Reading

Ofsted said...

Leaders have prioritised reading. Pupils begin to learn the sounds that letters make as soon as they start school. They are well supported in the early stages of learning to read. Staff pay attention to how well pupils learn sounds
