We would like to extend a warmest welcome to all the new Parents and Children joining Loatlands Primary School.
PALS are Loatlands school fundraising committee, led by Co Chairs, Laura Warden, Christine Thomas and Vice Chair Rebbecca Burbidge. We have a dedicated team of over 20 parents and staff volunteers who meet regularly to discuss and arrange fundraising events. The funds raised by PALS are for the extras which are not provided in the school budget. Our aim is simple: raise as much money as possible to provide the school with extra funds so that we can make your child’s learning journey even more fulfilling and memorable.
2017/2018 has been another great year for PALS. We have generated a very healthy bank balance, produced by the hard work of the committee and generosity and support of Loatlands staff, parents and children.
We have already had a very successful Christmas Grotto where over 100 lucky children got to meet Father Christmas; the event was full of cheer with the staff and PALS arranging a festive atmosphere that made sure everyone was in the Christmas spirit.
Over the coming months we have so much more to look forward to; the Summer Fete, Cake Sales, Discos and Movie Mobs to name a few! We would like to thank all the PALS members for their tireless work in the past year - the results are so rewarding and are truly making a difference to our children.
With the funds raised we continue to save £6000 for the all weather outside classroom and reflective environment that will bring amazing opportunities and experiences for each and every pupil at the school. The outside classroom comes with a very hefty price tag but we are on target to be able to gift the school the funds by 2020.
PALS have continued to donate towards coach fares for every year group’s school trip, classroom activities such as Bugtopia and special themed days, donate funds towards new library books, purchase anti bullying wristbands and provided whole school activities, such as the Life Education Bus.
The opportunities and experiences for our children speak for themselves: PALS is an organisation to be proud of, but none of this would be possible without the dedication of our wonderful committee and the contribution of so many parents. We remain determined to help Mr Izzard-Snape and his fantastic staff make the experience of all our children the best it can be.
In order to continue with our highly successful fundraising efforts, we ask for the help of the entire school community. Whether it’s donating cakes for a cake sale, running a stall at our Summer Fete, or volunteering to help at one of our Discos, we remain grateful for your support. We are always interested in speaking to potential new PALS members – we know our parents are a talented bunch – could you bring those talents into the PALS fold? Do you have a great fundraising idea to suggest to us? We would love to hear from you!
PALS are a registered charity and so we can benefit from claiming gift Aid and take advantage of Charity Match giving schemes. If you work for a company that takes part in the matched giving schemes then please let one of the PALS members know so we can discuss this further. If you feel your company would be able to help us in other ways, such as supplying materials or helping with other fundraising opportunities please get in touch as we would be excited to hear from you.
We hope that we have given you a little more information on your Parents Association. PALS could not have made the difference that we have if it wasn’t for the support of the parents so we would like to thank you on behalf of the school and children once again for your continued support.
We advertise all our events through the school newsletter on the dates list and on the school website so please watch out for new events coming up this term.
